Your idea that the Samuel Savage who died in Edgefield County, SC abt.1805 might have some connection to a Horne generation prior to the Edgefield person Samuel Savage Horne has been lurking in my mind, because I also believe it to be more than coincidence.Then, when I was doing research this week, I found the following: Deed Abstract on file in the Abbeville, SC, Courthouse:
"BEVIL, JOHN--BOX 11, PACK 216;
Est. admnr. Oct. 23, 1813 by Hudson Prince, Elijah Horn, Jas. Fleming bound to Taliaferro Livingston Ord. Abbeville Dist. sum $1,000.00. Sale, Dec. 3, 1813. Byrs: Sarah Bevil, Edward Prince Jr., Saml Savage Esq. Hudson Prince."
This Elijah Horn is likely my ancestor, who was born abt.1775 and named one of his sons Samuel Savage Horne in early 1800's. The source for this is "Abstracts of Old Ninety-Six and Abbeville District Wills and Bonds", compiled by Willie Pauline Young.
