John, what sorts of resources do they have available? And, what hours/days of the week are they open? I have taken research trips before, and have shown up in the middle of the week, only to find the place was closed down.

I am contemplating a trip (from Texas OR Indiana) to Edgefield, and am wondering if it will be worth the 10 hour drive from Indianapolis or 14 hour drive from the Houston area.

I am researching the Rhoden/Roden line, and have lots of Davis connections also.

Please reply here or e-mail me at

Thanks, Ed Rhoden
