In Reply to: HOLLIS DUNTON EDGEFIELD SC 1845 by Charles Dunton of 1566

It ran in the April 2, 1845 edition: "Died, in Edgefield District, on Friday, March 21, 1845, Hollis Dunton, Esq.,a native of Marlborough, Massachusetts, but for many years a citizen of South Carolina."

"Died, at Edgefield Court House [sic ???] on April 26, 1841, Miss Mary L. Dunton, aged 20 years. Her disease was consumption, and she suffered it about ten weeks." 5/6/1841

Her name was Mary Louise Dunton, and she was born February 15, 1821; she is buried near Zeline L. Dunton, and her epitaph is
"Tread lightly for this is hallowed ground".

Zeline L. Dunton was b. 12/24/1798 and d. 7/5/1823.

Hope this helps!
