Noble surname in late 1700 Edgefield County, SC

I strongly suspect that the Henry Noble (b abt 1760-1765)who is listed in the 1790 census of Edgefield County, SC may be my ancestor. Henry Noble, Rebecca Noble Grigg, and Jesse Grigg arrived in Randolph County, IL about 1804. Rebecca was the daughter of Henry Noble. This Henry later was found in Jackson County, IL and in Stoddard County, MO in 1840.
Henry Noble, Jr who might possibly be his son is found in the Jackson County, IL census for 1818, and later in Union County, IL where he lived with his wife, Barbara (nee Smith), daughter of Andrew and Katherine Smith formerly of Rowan County, NC.

In the 1807 Randolph County Census, I find the following:
NOBLE, Gilbert
NOBLE, Henry
NOVAUL, Hypolite (could Novaul be a misspelling of Noble?)

At one time, I know I have also found a Samuel Noble and a Zephaniah Noble in the early 1800 census data for this area.

Henry Noble Jr and Barbara Smith Noble are my ggggrandparents through their son William and his first wife Mary Gaston.

Henry and Barbara had a daughter named Clarinda. I have read from one of the postings that Solomon Noble also had a daughter named Clarinda. A possible connection?

Has anyone found any verifible information on these early settlers of Edgefield County, SC? Parents? Previous locale?

The Henry Noble, Esq. who was a member of the royal council for SC in the first decade of the 1700's.....has anyone done research on his family?

I've been at a standstill for a long time.
Thanks for any response.

Linda Noble Murphy
