After Henry Adams died in 1836 (he died intestate and guardianships awarded for his children are in Warren Cty
Ga. records, although they could have been in Columbia Co. next door), Leodicea Adams moved westward with her children to Putnam Cty. and Upson Cty.(which Pike Cty. was made from).

I was looking at Edgefield Co. SC, trying to find where Henry and Leodicea came from in SC. I have no record of their marriage (or her maiden name). They had a son named Benjamin, as do many of the Adams in the area. I have not been able to connect to any of the families, like David Adams or Benjamin Adams who were Rev. War soldiers. The names William and James appear in the family as well.

Leodicea ("Lodicy") in 1850 in Upson Cty. (The census gives that spelling of her name, and the cty in that census gives Richmond instead of Upson.
Sometime around mid-1880's they moved to Cherokee County. I have no explanation, although there was a Matthew Adams that lived there and was in the Land Lottery. Perhaps there is a connection, or perhaps just a coincidence.

I may try to look at your Benjamin in Monroe in 1847 to see if I can find anything to connect.

Would love to hear from you if you have a connection...Pat
