By the 1850 Census, Mary Ann Walker had already married John C. Hamilton and was living one household away from her parents, William G. Walker and Lucinda MNU. To my knowledge, William and Lucinda Walker had three children...
- Felix Pickens Walker (7 Jan 1836 - 12 Aug 1916) m. Charlotte Ann Abney
- Susan E. Walker (b. abt 1832) m. John Kirksey Abney
- Mary Ann Walker (25 Dec 1825 - 30 Jul 1899) m. John C. Hamilton, Jr.
Mary Ann Walker and John C. Hamilton were my ggg-grandparents, by way of their daughter, Mary Ann Caroline Hamilton Rogers.
William G. Walker's Will is on file in Edgefield County and in that Will, he only names one child, Felix P. Walker. It stands to reason as in those days it was customary to leave most property to the oldest living son. I did find a Tillman Walker on the 1850 Census, but he was living in the household of a Joseph Walker.
Are you connected to this Walker family? If so, have you any idea who William G. Walker married. Her name was Lucinda but we don't know her maiden name. Also, have you any idea where William G. Walker may be buried or who his parents were? I've hit a brick wall on several counts and haven't had too much time to spend over in Edgefield digging through Probate records. Any assistance you could offer would be much appreciated!
