I know there were land records for William in Edgefield County. I also know Rebecca H. Hendrick has confused the two men. She says in her book that Wm. Herring of Pendleton was in Edgefield but I certain there were two entirely different men with the same name. I think she has maybe confused the the two men. The Wm. Herring she spoke of made his will in Pendleton in 1812.

William Herrin/Herin made his will in Edgefield in 1820 & I believe he came from NC to Edgefield.
