If you go to SC archives online:

http://www.archivesindex.sc.gov/onlinearchives/search.aspx

and on "individual line" put in name "Bowers, Giles", several listings come up. One is will of Malcom Bowers 1836 listing sons John and Giles, and another is will of John Bowers 1855 listing brother Giles.

1820 census has Giles Bowers in Colleton, SC 1 m 16-26, 1 m over 45, 1 female 16-26

1820 census has Giles Bowers in Barnwell, SC 1 m under 10, 1 m 10-16, 1m 26-45, 1 f under 10, 1 f 26-45

1830 census has Giles Bowers, Barnwell, SC, 1 m under 5, 1m 5-10, 1 m 30-40, 1 f under 5, 1 f 5-10, 1 f 15-20

1840 census has Jiles Bowers, Barnwell, SC 1 m 5-10, 1 m 10-15, 1 m 15-20, 1 m 30-40, 1 f under 5, 1 f 5-10, 1 f 15-20, 1 f 30-40
