My maiden name is Herndon, but that was a name given to my father on his birth certificate as he was born out of wedlock. John Herndon, from Wolfe City, Texas was sort-of a God father for my dad. He was kind enough to lend his name and do this for my grandmother. They were only friends and nothing more. DNA has proven that my fahter was not a Herndon.

DNA tests have confirmed my father's biological father was most likely a man with the last name of Warren. I have collected many photos from the "net" of men who resided in counties close to Delta Co. Texas and have come to the conclusion that my father was indeed a "Warren." The Warren family I have linked him to came out of Virginia and "split" in the early 1800's; one line going to Mississippi and the other to Tennessee and Alabama. Both lines, however, did wind up residing in North Texas in the early 1900's.

Thanks for your reply to my post and am very sorry I haven't got any leads as far as the Herndon surname goes. There was a Mary Herndon who married into our family of Norris in Georgia. It was rumored she was a Native American Indian? Anyway, please take care and keep in touch.
