Nell, A great deal of research has gone over the dam since I first inquired about the Edgefield Co group. The little book, "Early Settlers of Barbour Co, VolI" I found in the Auburn U. archives. It stated that the Efurd family came from Edgefield c.1823-28 and settled area west and northwest of Clayton. It mentions neighbors in SC: James, McCarty, James W. Corley, Benjamin Adkins, Isaac Cosset, Watts Mann, Wm. Morris, Loveless, Grubbs, DeShazo, Deload, Warren. It also said that the large caravan of settlers that arrived found this part of AL a wilderness. Sorry I can't be of more help---this is an elusive bunch! June
