My GGgrandmother Melinda Elizabeth Hammon Thompson lived in Dorchester County SC in 1864-1867. Her husband William Thompson was from Dorchester County-died there and was buried there in 1867. They had a set of twins named Henry Eli and Neicy Carrie Thompson who were born March 13, 1866. After William's death Melinda moved back to Allenton, NC to live with her parents. Later she moved to Hope Mills, NC and remarried. She took only Neicy Carrie with her leaving behind Henry Eli to live with his grandparents. No one seems to have any info on Neicy Carrie but some older relatives say she moved back to Dorchester County during her adult years.
