Grave of Emma Eliza Cantley (Ilderton)

My great grandmother was Emma Eliza Cantley. Her death certificate says her father was H. Cantley, her mother's name unknown. Emma apparently was not married to my great grandfather Dr.Robert Ilderton (Limehouse--he dropped Limehouse name) of Colleton County, South Carolina. In the census of 1880 from Colleton/Dorchester Counties, Emma is listed as a Cantley with 6 children living at home (11 children total). In the June 1900 census she is listed as Emma Ilderton; Dr. Robert Ilderton died in April 1900; his wife, Mary Hill Ilderton, was still living and died in 1912. Emma died in Charleston, S.C. on December 9, 1918 of influenza. She is buried in Magnolia Cemetery. I am searching for any information on her family. Someone in our family says she was told Emma's mother was a McCracken from North Carolina. Emma was said to be a schoolteacher who went to live with the Robert Ilderton family to teach their children. She was 17 years younger than Robert. He moved her into a home of her own and in 1877 gave her (as Emma Cantley) a good bit of land in Summerville, SC known as a plantation called Round Savannah or Cow Savannah. Any contacts will be appreciated. Tensie Limehouse Campbell (
