Strickland family of Colleton and Richland County

Hi

I am trying to get information on my Strickland family in Richland County. Abel Strickland born about 1822 was living in Richland County on the 1850 census and the direct line of my Stricklands have been in Richland County since. An 87 year old uncle tells me that we are related to Stricklands in Colleton County but he wasn't sure of the names. If anyone there has a connection to the Richland Co I would very much like to share information with you.
