Louis, found your name on the Stobo site. I'm a desc. of Rev. Archibald m. Elizabeth Park > James m. Elizabeth Scot > Richard Park m. Mary Harvey. I saw the Stobo rice branding tool on PBS's "Great Museums" -- ordered book from the Charleston Museum and they were still doing archeological work on the site of James' planation on Edisto Island at that time. Site is said to be very well preserved - but a mystery as to why it was abadonned. Most of the book is scientific with a small genealogical chart in the back.
When we were in Charleston several years ago didn't have much time but ate dinner at Middleton Place -- on the way there my spouse sited a sign that said "St. Andrews" but didn't mention it until we were on our way to Columbia. Would this have been the site of Stobo's St. Andrews? Do you have ANY clues on parents of Eliz. Scot or Mary Harvey above. I know that Eliz. Park, wife of Rev. Arch. was the daughter of James Park, Advocate of Scotland. Any info you have would be greatly appreciated. Patillo <patillo@enturytel.net>
