I can't believe you came up with so much so fast! I'm going to have to try and absorb all the info first and then get back to you little by little as I sort it. The short dates I gave for William M Hamilton Hart and Caroline M Hart are apparently all that are on their headstones. There's also a "Daughter" Hart, Mrs. Adeline Hart, and Harriett O S Hart in Friendship Methodist Cemetery. But I did just find this census: ---“1880 SC Census,” St. Johns Berkeley, Charleston Co, SC, img 47/84, ED 89, HH 557 Second Subdivision. N. by Orangeburg Co., E. by Nelson's Ferry and Moncks Corner Road and Western Branch Cooper R., S. by Back R., W. by Back R. and St. James Goose Creek, roll=T9_1223 HART, Wm M 68 b 1812 SC farming SC SC Caroline C 62 b 1818 SC keeping house SC SC Joranna? female 26 daughter b 1854 SC single, laborer So now I know who they are. Wm and Caroline Hart are the parents of David Calhoun, Mary I, and Joanna (Johanna?) Hart. David Calhoun Hart married Mary Ann BRADWELL, daughter of John E (W?) BRADWELL & Mary E CALVITT. (Oh, you just said that didn't you?) Last week I was talking to the grandson of J Russell Cross, Wes Singletary, and he had this to say, " I recall that Mary Ann Bradwell, daughter of John Wilson Bradwell and Mary Elizabeth Calvitt (as well as sister of Martha Celestia Bradwell Cross), married a Hart who was closely related to William S. Hart, but I don't remember the exact relationship." So that puts us on the right track to where these two William Harts were probably related. The William S. he's referring to is William Sinclair Hart who married Martha Adeline Bunch. From what you gave me on the kids of William and Caroline Hart I've found where Walter C Whaley and Mary J Hart Whaley are buried (Wassamassaw), so now I have their dates and probably some of their children around them. You've got some really old and valuable information. I'll have time to gather more of what you've told me tomorrow. Still want to know about Anna Murray though. In your other message you said she was born even earlier than 1817 and that could only place her with a couple of Murray families that I know of. George Murray most likely because I've pretty much accounted for all 12 of my direct-line Arnold Murray's kids. And yes I have Knights in the family! I was going to count them for you, but found there were far too many of them. Since you brought them up...I'm most interested in David Knight b 1830 who married Jane B Patrick b 1832, resided in Orangeburg, then Colleton/Dorchester Counties. I could list all their kids if you'd like, and they're buried in Boone Hill United Methodist. I'd love to know one day who their parents were. I've also got a lot of Ways who married the Murrays in the family, but I've got to stop sometime! Notify Administrator about this message?
