Pamela:
I have come miles in my Jarrell research since I posted the message you replied to. At the time I wanted to see if I could tie my Jarrell ancestor to the family of Lewis Jarrell and Rachel Phillips but have just about disproved that theory. Lewis's descendants have been pretty well researched and my ancestor wasn't among them. I also believe you are right that most all those folks were FitzJarrell's and I also believe that all those So. Carolina Jarrells came from one FitzJarrell family(just my theory).

I think my ggggf was Willis FitzJarrell b. 1803 of Greene Co. GA (born in SC) was one of the last to drop the Fitz between 1820 and 1830 according to family lore. His son and grandson was also an extremely proud Irishmen as well, also according to family lore.
If I can be of assistance don't hesitate to ask.
Jerry
