Thank you so much Theresa! My grandmother died on November 11,1929 in Richland Cty at age 30. She was married to a James Platt who may also be from Barnwell Cty, but died in Richland Cty. My father Robert Lenwood Platt, Sr. was the 4th of four of their children. Something must have happened to them because my father grew up in Jenkins Orphanage which originated in Columbia, but then moved to the Charleston area where my siblings and I were born. All we have from my father is his birth certificate with the names of his parents. We don't know how they died or where his siblings are located. My Dad's birthdate is May 5, 1922 if that helps. He died before ever learning the fate of his parents or siblings. I might also add that we have found that we have not been able to find many African Americans with the surname "Platt". They are usually "Platts". I had hoped that with a surname like Percision, it would prove to be a good starting place. I hope you can help us. I'll pass on any info I can once I recieve it. Thanks again!
Collette Platt-Oliver
