Hey Theresa, my name is Victoria and I'm also doing family research. I know you probably have heard this before, but one of the main websites I use is Ancestry.com. It really is a great starting place and can give you some invaluable information. From there, I often try and contact local libraries where you can often find obituaries in archived newspapers. When you find names of relatives who may be still living, find their addresses and write to them.

Researching our black ancestors often is quite challenging relative to some other races, but really diligent research can help alleviate that headache. And it is so incredibly worth it**

Happy hunting!
