Thomas S. Webb moved to Giles County, Tenn. before 1810. He came with some of the Ezell family connections in the Union District of South Carolina. He was the son of Charles Webb of Anderson, S.C., and his second wife, Catherine Stribling. Catherine was the daughter of Thomas Stribling and Nancy Ann Kincheloe of Pendleton, formerly of the Union District.
The notes of Elizabeth Webb made back in the 1930s indicate that Thomas S. Webb married a Nancy Bell.
They had the following children:
Manday Webb -- married a Mr. Brown.
William Bell Webb
Thomas Webb served as a sheriff in Giles County, Tenn.
My ancestor, Micajah Webb, was a brother to Thomas S. Webb. Micajah was the first postmaster of Anderson, S.C., and bought one of the first lots. The First Baptist Church stands on that lot, which he donated about 1832 before moving west. Micajah also co-owned the Benson House with his brother-in-law, John Prince Benson.
Other brothers and sisters of Thomas Webb were:
Dr. Edmund Webb of Anderson, S.C.
William Webb of Anderson.
Warren Robinson Webb -- merchant at Charleston.
Elijah Webb -- court clerk at Anderson for 40 years.
Elisha Webb of Anderson.
Judge Clayton Stribling Webb of Hartwell, Ga.
