Trying to find out any information on a Jones Family that might have been in Anderson Co., SC in the early 1800's. Just found out that my great-grandfather's name was Francis M. Jones b. 1824 and he married Mary Unk. b. 1825 SC. Not sure of the birth location of Francis, may have been Alabama or SC. We think that he had a sister named Caroline that married Alexander Aldridge and they were in Anderson Co., SC for a while. The reason I am inquiring about this family, my grandfather named his first born which was also his first son Shirley. Thought maybe there might be a chance that your Jones Family and mine might be connected in some way. They left SC and migrated to GA then to LA in 1870.
