Migration from Anderson Co. to Lowndes Co., MS about 1826

Hi All: My ancestors John and Elizbeth (Duncan) Daves and William and Jane Daves moved large families from Anderson County, SC to Lowndes County, MS about 1826. I think, but can't prove, that Elizabeth's parents William and Nancy Duncan as well as her brother also William Duncan came at the same time. I suspect that other families came long also. E.g. Nail, Snell, Miller (and others?). Does anyone know of such a large party coming to Lowndes County at that time? What was the attraction? Do any records exist? Any help appreciated. Cheers, Doyle Daves
