James M Stewart/Elizbeth J Perry in Savannah

I'm looking for the origins of a James M. Stewart and Elizabeth J. Perry who were enumerated in the 1900 census in Howard County, Arkansas. According to that census, James would have been born about 1861 and Elizabeth in 1864. They stated they were from South Carolina as were their parents.

I found a J.M. Stewart and and his wife Elizbeth in the 1880 census in Savannah enumerated with a 9 month old baby girl, Emma. James is the right age, but Elizabeth is now listed as having been born @1860. I think there is a good chance these are the same folks. I have found no other candidates in SC at the time.

I did a bit more digging into the 1870 census for Savannah and found a J. Monroe Stewart who was 9 years old (the right age) who was enumerated with his brother William S, age 5 and his mother, Martha, age 31. No father listed. Perhaps he was a Civil War casualty. Can anyone tell me about this particular family or of any other possibilities.

Thanks,
Joe
