William, Willis & Uriah White
Posted by: Frank White Date: September 10, 2001 at 10:10:50

I am looking for the parents of my great-grandfather Willis J. White, born SC 1807. He first shows up in Lincoln, TN 1830 census as head of household. I have reason to believe - not yet documented -- that he had at least two brothers...Uriah, born c. 1798 and William W., born before 1800. Three men with these names lived in Lincoln Tn 1830.

I have scoured the SC 1810 census and narrowed my search to the Pendleton District where William White, aged 45 and J. (James?) White aged 26-45 both had sons of the right ages.My question: has anyone done research on these two and if so, how can I piggy-back on it to determine if they are my ancestors? Any response at all will put me miles ahead of where I sit today. Thanks Frank
