Thank you for answering my query. Indeed, you may be related to my Palmers/Palmores from Anderson Co, SC. Mostly all these Palmers were originally from Virginia, especially the ones who came into the upper part of South Carolina. I am going to give you two good sources in attempting to connect your Palmers/Palmores. First, if you live near a large genealogy library, see if they have the Leorando Andrea Collection on microfilm. If not, go to your nearest FLC (Mormon Church Library) and have them order the microfilm on the Leorando Andrea Collection, making certain the microfilm includes the "P". I got 43 pages of information on the SC Palmers, which most of it is prior to 1810. It does have a William, born 1802, who was the infant son of William who died that year, who was the son of a John. Grandpa John mentions his grandson, William, the infant who was born in 1802, in his Will. I believe his uncle Amasa was appointed guardian of baby William. This may be your family. A good many of the Palmers/Palmores who first came to the uplands of SC moved westward.
My Palmores/Palmers moved on into Anderson County and it is truly hard to connect these people. I am starting from "square one" in an attempt to follow these people from their first State Land Grants soon after the Revolutionary War as they settled in various upland counties/districts in SC on over to Anderson County where my grandmother was from.
Second, if you have subscribed to the rootsweb PALMER-L (Palmer-Line), a Palmore descendant has just put about 800 pages of research on the Internet (no cost) on all these SC Palmers and their descendants. Try this URL:
I believe it will help you tremendously. Now, what exactly do you know or remember about Chandler Palmer? His age would be about the same as your William who was born in 1802. Chandler was born about 1800 to 1804. Try hard to recall anything you may have heard. I would really appreciate it.
