James West, born 1798 in SC, son of Jacob West . James West married unknown first wife and had five unknown children. James moved to GA, AL and TN and died in Lafayette County, MS in 1862? James married second wife, Jincey (Sarah Jane) Tucker, and had five children. Sarah Jane was married previously to Joel TUCKER 25 Aug 1833 in Stewart County, GA, and Sarah Jane and Joel had five children of their own.

1850 Itawamba MS list my James West, with wife Jane. The children listed are Tuckers by Jane's first marriage. They are:
Frances F 16 GA
Nancy F 14 AL
Uriah M 12 AL
Martha F 10 AL
Sarah E. F 8 AL
(None of the female Tucker children married, and Uriah was killed in the Civil War)

James and Jane had five children. Mary b. abt. 1848, James May 6, 1850, Catherine b. abt. 1852, Marion b. abt 1854, George W. b. May 4, 1856.

First, I would like to find anyone with info and to who the five children were by James and his first (unknown name) wife.

Secondly, I am trying to find a connection to any West who were listed on the 1850 Fayette, Co., AL census. I believe that any of the West that were listed on this census and particularly who were born in SC is possibly a brother to my James West. I would like to contact anyone who is researching these names, in hopes that I may find a link to this brick wall…

William H. West, age 49 and wife Sarah L., age 44

Benjamin West, age 26

Samuel L. West, age 29

William R. West, age 22 b. NC

William L. West, age 39, b. SC

Sam? West, age 21, b. AL

Thomas A. West, b. SC

H. L? or G? West, age 28, b. SC

John West, 20, b. AL

James A. West, 22, b. AL

Thanks for any help you can give. Mary
