I tried to send you an email but it came back - maybe I didn't type correctly! I was going over some old Anderson County, SC GenForum postings between you and I regarding the Shirleys. I spent a few days in June in Alabama researching my Shirleys. At the New Harmony Baptist Church in Albertville, AL, I found the grave for James "Smith" Shirley. I also located his Civil War records. Let me know if
you would like the information - maybe you have it already. I also took a
picture of his tombstone and can send that to you.
