Honea Path Davis Family - 1800's
Posted by: Margaret Silk (ID *****2612) Date: March 02, 2009 at 17:15:36

My greatgrandfather Eugene Davis (and apparently he had a twin sister, Minnie) was born 28 Dec 1879 to a Sallie ???

Sallie b. either 1851 or 1861 (the 1880 census was corrected but I can't tell which) is listed as the daughter of Nancy Davis b. about 1835 in SC.

There are two sons listed: Will Davis b about 1876 and Eugene b Dec 1878.

According to the Pender Family Bible (Minnie married a John Pender), Minnie Lee had a twin brother named Eugene.

When I pulled Minnie's death certificate, her mother's maiden name was Sallie Brock.

Nancy is a widow.

I can't find ANYTHING prior to 1880 on any record including the census for any of these people.

Does anyone have any information about my great grandfather's family?

Thank you,
Margaret Davis Silk
