Seeking descendants of CAPTAIN JAMES ANDERSON, 1747-1813, SC

I am seeking sources to confirm the line of descent from Captain James Anderson, who settled on upper Beaverdam Creek in Pendleton District (now Anderson Co.) shortly after the Revolution. I know he and wife Agnes (Craig) had at least one son, (Dr) William, b. 1790, and at least one direct grandson, Richard H., who is buried with James in the family cemetery near present-day Belton.

How can I establish descent from James to Lander Barnes Anderson (Sr.), who moved from Honea Path to Spartanburg, SC, early in the last century? L. B. is my grandfather. Family anecdote is that James was our progenitor.
