Maggie,

I am descended from Capt. Thomas Shannon and Elizabeth Taylor of Fairfield County, SC. He was born in 1743. It is believed he had a son John who died in 1800. Known sons are David (my lineage) and Thomas Jr, who moved to Alabama.

I have seen where John Shannon was in different parts of the upstate. I am trying to confirm that John was the son of Thomas Shannon and if he had a son named Charles John Shannon. Charles John moved from Winnsboro, SC to Kershaw County, a bordring county. It is believed Charles John Shannon was raised by Wiliam McCreight of Winnsboro after his father died in 1800. Thomas died in 1812.
