George Creswell, of Abbeville District, South Carolina. Gives to daughter Rebecca, wife of Drury Glover, one negro woman named Rachel, saddle and bridle, cow and calf. Gives to daughter Mary Ann, wife of John Gray, two Negoes Bet and Mary, the daughter of Rachel. Gives to daughter Jenny Gray, a Negro man George. Gives to daughter Jane, one negro woman Hannah, saddle and bridle, cow and calf, fether bed. Gives to son William, all the lands I own or will own saddle and bridle, feather bed and furniture and Negroes Jim, Mary and her daughter Sylvia. Gives to son John on Negro man Jacob, he having already received as much as I intend him to have. Any property no otherwise disposed of by this will to be equally divided amonge all my children and son John to have equal with the rest.
To wife Sarah, one half of the plantation on which I now reside, saddle and bridle, feather bed and furniture during her lifetime or widowhood, property not to be removed from the plantation. If so removed then executor to take possession for the benefit of my son William. If Sarah remarries or dies then executors to become guardians of William if he is not of age. Dr. Samuel Marshal and Leroy Watson appointed executors to will signed 7 May 1823. Witnessed: George Marshall, Joseph Eakins, William Eakins.
