Hi Albert
I have been stuck with my Saxons for a number of years now. Perhaps you have provided a key?
My 3x Gt-grandfather was Thomas Saxon, born c. 1780. I have never traced his baptism. He was almost certainly the son of John ans Sarah Saxon, who, at the time of his death, in 1823, was a farmer at Harthill Farm, Great Hamlet of Hayfield. (The farm was close to Rowarth).
I have often wondered if the Sarah was formerly Wright.
One of Thomas's sons was baptised Wright and then it became a family name.
I am Eric son of Sam, son of Joe, son of Samuel, son of William, son of Thomas.
Also have a copy of a will of Samuel Saxon of Ridgehill, who owned property in Currier Lane!
Hope to hear from you soon.
Eric Saxon
