Credible ancestry of John Savage of Rehoboth?

I was wondering if there is any credible information on the ancestry of John Savage of Rehoboth? A few years ago I went "computer happy" and imported a bunch of unsupported "stuff" (to employ a euphemism) from Ancestral File. This had Rehoboth John linked directly to the Rocksavage Savages and their 1000-year lineage. Of course, Ancestral File had him born after his supposed mother's death, but that didn't matter, at least not until I ran a problem check on my database and tried to account for the discrepancy. So, I was just wondering if there was any credible, well supported, information on his ancestry? Thanks!
