Was happy to receive your message. There are quite a few of us working on the Sauve genealogy. So far I have compiled about 2500 Sauves in Quebec, Ontario, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Michigan. I have a few that
are a problem. Right now my biggest problem is with female marriages. I had xeroxed pages from the Blue Drouin books of females at the Montreal library, but they were lost on a recent trip to Florida. If you could make copies and send them to me I would gladly pay all costs. I will be in Montreal for two days the first week in August. I am going with my daughter and her family on a trip to Maine and we will return by way of Montreal. Also, do you know where the archives have moved to? I understand they are no longer on Mullins St. I need to access the computerized notarial records called "Parchemin" to see if there are notarial acts for Pierre. I am trying to find out at which fort near Montreal the company of Dumesny was stationed. There is a Sauve web page done by Dave Sauve who lives near Toronto. I send him my information and he puts it up on the web. As far as more information on Francois, that is difficult. I have e-mailed a Janice Liebe in Canada, who has gone to France. She could find nothing on Pierre's parents. I do know that there is a ruined benedictine abbey called Sauve-Majeure Abbey founded by St. Gerard of Corbia in 1079 near Bordeaux. I also know that one of the earliest records of a Sauve in France was in 1243. The person was Chretien Sauve. This comes from a book, "Les Fils De Saint-Come by Dr. Georges Sauve published in 1987. The book is in French, so though I ordered it through inter-library loan, I could understand very little of it. There is a copy of the book at the Harvard Medical School. You may or may not find something about our Pierre's heritage.
Glad to hear from you. My private e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org and my address is Jeanne S. White 2901 Evergreen Dr. Bay City, MI 48706.
Look forward to hearing from you.
