Hi Larry
in response to your message about Phileman (Sauve) Lapine...
I am working with a direct descendant now trying to find the father of the 3 sons: Alexander, Frank, Oliver. Philemon married Alfred Lapine 1872 Saginaw Co, MI she was widow of a Sovay(Sauve) her maiden name was hard to read in the county records either Parrow or Passow, but I feel she was probaly Perrot. the sons used the spelling Sovia and have continued that until today. the descendant thinks the father could have been John Baptiste. we are trying that idea now. My Sova line is my grtGrdparents John and Catherine LaFortune Sova of St. Polycarpe,Que; Brant Co., Ont; Cheyboygan, MI; Saginaw Co.,MI; finally Midland Co, MI were they died. John's parents- Alexis and Marie Magdeline Fournier Sauve. We descend from the 10th child of Pierre and Renee - Charles and Marie Josephe Leger dit Parisien. Fred and I will share whatever we have on the Sovia family Kathy
