I have been involved in studying Potawatomi/Odawa cultures over a number of years. I now find a connection to you good folks. In A. J. Blackbird's book, "History of the Ottawa and Chippewa Michigan Indians of Michigan," he mentioned his Saulteaux ancestry. From this and other sources, I fine the following: Petawonequot and Unknown (Sebequah?) Mktbennesi (son) circa 1770 - June, 1861 Wakezoo (son # 2) Late Wing (son # 3) Mititasi (Macquivois) {son # 4} Kawmenotea (son # 5) Ausegonok Letourneau/Blackbird Ca 1740 also spelled as Sigenak or Asigenak Son of Ausegonok was named Shabni Or Shabnee. Shabnee was born at Riviere des Raisins ca 1783. He died July, 1859 in Illinois. He had a younger brother named Mkosi, a sister named Manabunoquah, and another sister who took th name of Ann (Bailly). Shabni (ee) was always thought of as being Odawa. He fought alongside Tecumtha in the Battle of the Thames. He later became a broker/negotiater for the Three Fire in Illinois. Any known ties among the Sauteaux? Kche Migwetch, Jim Dowd
