Tina, quite a few years back, I ran across some Sauls that may have merged into the wrong line and tracked the line I mentioned. The Jas. D. Sauls I mentioned was born in Columbus, Muscogee Co., GA on the 26th of May, 1844.GA not WV was his birth state and that would have made him the son of Sarah Nicks and Jas. D. Sauls. The same Jas. D. Sauls enlisted in the Light Artillery under Capt. Robert Gamble and Capt. E. E. Dykes. He enlisted in 1864 and saw action at Olustee where he was wounded when his horse threw him against a tree. His CSA FL Pension is online and numbered A05581. See if this is correct with your notes.
