This is what I have regarding Holladay Sauls of Williamsburg County, SC: Hollday Sauls (son of David Sauls) was born February 11, 1808, and died May 30, 1870 in Lake City, SC. He married Litha Ann Rodgers, daughter of John Rodgers and Margaret Graham. Children of Hollday Sauls and Litha Ann Rodgers are: Ann Sauls, b. Abt. 1833, d. date unknown. +Ezekiel S Sauls, b. September 03, 1834, d. June 07, 1898, Lake City. +Jennette/Jenett Sauls, b. Abt. 1836, Florence SC, d. date unknown. James N Sauls, b. Abt. 1838, d. date unknown. Catherine Carey Sauls, b. Abt. 1840, d. date unknown. +Keturah Sauls, b. October 1841, Lee Township, Williamsburg Co SC, d. October 14, 1914, SCranton SC. +Issac H Sauls, b. Abt. 1844, d. date unknown, Lake City. Elijah H Sauls, b. Abt. 1846, d. date unknown, Lake City. Evander Sauls, b. Abt. 1848, d. date unknown. Martha Sauls, b. Abt. October 1849, d. date unknown. Henrietta Sauls, b. Abt. 1855, d. date unknown. Rutha Sauls, d. date unknown. Elizabeth Sauls, d. date unknown. I have an ancestor, namely Amos Jones who was married to the Keturah Adeline Sauls mentioned above. My great-great-grandfather Lewis Jones' 1st born son was Amos Jones. In 1850, this family is in Darlington District. They moved to Williamsburg County in mid-1850's. Lewis Jones died in 1857. Amos Jones, his son,was living independently in the 1860 Williamsburg County Census. Amos is found with a K.A.(Keturah Adeline) Jones in this Census, his wife. I was able to find a Claim for Deceased Servicement she filed when Amos Jones died in 1863 during the Civil War. In 1860 she is 18yo and in the 1850 Census she is 8yo. The family she is listed with in 1850 is: Holladay Sauls and wife Litha along with children: Ann, Ezekiel, Jennett, James, Catherine, Keturah, Isaac, Elijah, Evander, and Martha Sauls. Then I got to thinking, where have I heard the name Ezekiel Sauls before? In 1859, two years after the death of their father, Amos Jones and his brother Lewis Jones were listed as plaintiffs in a lawsuit against Emily Jones the wife of Lewis Jones for their share of Lewis Jones' estate; they were represented by "next friend Ezekiel Sauls" who is Keturah's brother. In the 1860 Williamsburg Census, Amos and Keturah Jones are on the same page as Ezekiel Sauls. I have also discovered a website re: this Sauls family: http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/c/o/r/Joey-Cordray/WEBSITE-0001/UHP-0202.html I am of the belief, that Keturah Adeline Jones was NOT married to W.L. Jones; instead the only W.L. Jones is her son - William Louis Jones. She is found with him and another infant Jones daughter in 1870 living in GA. She did return to SC and married a Miles. William Louis Jones married and remained in the Williamsburg/Florence County area. If you have any other info re: the Sauls family please reply. I am most interested.
