George Sauers was born Dec.27, 1831 in Alsace, France and immgrated to Canada in 1842 or 1856. He came to the US - living in Ohio, MI, NY and the state of WA. He served with an Ohio Co. in the Civil War. He married 4 X: Elizabeth Smith, Mary (Foster?), Mary Mails, and Hannah P. Quimby. He had 8 children with Elizabeth, 2 children with Mary Foster, one child with Mary Mails, none with Hannah - and he outlived them all. He died May 18, 1907 in Buffalo, Erie Co. NY. I descend from George's son, Henry Lee Sauers (son of Elizabeth Smith - the first wife). I am interested in corresponding with any Sauers' descendants and learning more about this family. Children by each wife:
Elizabeth Smith: Louisa (1857), Charles (1860), George J. (1861), Anna (1865), William (1867), Henry Lee (1868), Rose (1872). (A son named George born 1858 - died at less than one year of age.)
Mary Foster:
Elisa (1875), Marguerite (1877)

Mary Mails: Mary (Mayme) (1880).
George's father was Rudolph Sauers married to Elizabeth Bertman - both German
nothing more known about them or any siblings of George's.
