Finding ancestor from Saudi Arabia
Posted by: Researcher (ID *****5009) Date: February 22, 2008 at 02:52:32

Hi,

I am searching my surname (if any) or anybody who also have a same story as me (wonder if I have "unknown" relatives) in Saudi Arabia.

The story begins like this:
My grandfather's dad is an Arab from Saudi Arabia. I am not sure whether this great grandfather is Sheikh Abdullah or Sheikh Nafis. In early 1900 or before, he came to Singapore for business and his brother went to Palembang. If I am not mistaken the name sound like Abdul Rahim(born on 1933) bin Zain bin Sheikh Abdullah bin Sheikh Nafis bin...
Abdul Rahim is my grandfather.

To make it short, my grandfather's dad ever told my dad and Abdul Rahim that his ancestor the one who take care of Masjid al-Haram. In the end, he went back to Saudi Arabia after his business unsuccessful in Singapore.
