We could use help from the Satterfield Family. There are about five or six Guion Miller applications going back to this family.

James Helton was married to Catherine Satterfield of Eastern Ohio or Western VA. 1750-1800 time frame. This puts them in a position to be within our family who were also in VA at one time. Our DNA is Native American.

James Helton married Catherine Satterfield Helton
born in Eastern Ohio or Virginia according to the application.

kids were:

Eliza Helton b. March 22 1820 married George Reading from Delaware State.b. Oct 4 1815
Charles Helton
John Helton
Mariah Helton
William Helton
Jackson Helton

They lived in Cass Co. Ohio in 1851

Eliza Helton Reading children were
Catherine Whitzel
Jackson Reading
James Helton Reading # 21335 Guion Miller
Larue Reading his son was # 21333 Guion Miller. He says he also filed seperately for Tribal membership.

The William Hilton that files out of Cass Co. is the Son of John, grandson of James.

So you have the grandkids of James and Catherine Satterfield Helton through John and Eliza filing for Cherokee Membership. You Heltons out there help us out. If this is your line. Please DNA test.

There is lots more of the applications on the Helton Family Gen Forum.

Mike Helton
