Jeremiah Satterfield b: abt 1775 who is documented in the 1800 Census of Pendleton, South Carolina, in Maury Co., Tennessee in 1820 as per the 1820 Census. Is he the brother, step brother or father of Colonel Basil B. Satterfield b: 18 Feb 1804 South Carolina. Jeremiah Satterfield b: abt 1775 died in Hardin Co., Tennessee in about 1835, as per his will recorded in Hardin. (I have not yet acquired a copy). Does anyone have a copy ? Basil B. Satterfield was a Major of the 36th militia in 1826 and a Colonel of the militia 1828, @ 24 years old, Hickman Co., Tennessee. I realized after reading the will and bible information of Robert Samuel Brashear wh died: abt 1815 Roane County, Tennessee, that there is a good chance a close family relationship has been erroneously passed on through a missed death and a 2nd marriage of Elizabeth ? Brashear Satterfield. Robert Samuel Brashear " The Rolling Stone" left $1 to be split with his son Philip's (b: 1755 Maryland), "widow" Elizabeth. Elizabeth was said to have been married to Jeremiah Satterfield by Nov 1815. This indicates Philip Brashear was the paternal father of my GG Grandfather Basil. "Basil" was a common name in the Brashear family, hopefully there will be a descendant who can come forward willing to compare their DNA to both families. Apparently my GG Grandfather Bazil B. Satterfield b: 18 Feb 1804 Pendleton, South Carolina was the son of Elizabeth ? Brashear," widow" of Phillip Brashear b: 1755. Information obtained from "The Brashear Story" indicated Phillip died before Nov 1815. Although I do not pretend to say this is fact, it is very likely my Satterfield family name should have been Brashear. Basil Brashear ? Still need assistance in proving the theory. Anybody have the Will in 1835 Hardin, Tennessee ? The Jeremiah Satterfield who married the widow of Philip was living in Giles Co., Tennessee as of abt 1815. The Author and apparent expert on the Brashear family wrote in 1998 that a man named Kasa Jr. Brashear was the father of Elizabeth Brashear who married Michael Straisnerh Roane Co., Tennessee, Apr 1807 And then published a revision of this statement in his 3rd volume which recanted this and stated that there was documentation which indicated the father of Elizabeth Brashear who married Michael Straisner Roane Co., Tennessee was the daughter of Robert Samuel Brashear. It would be very coincidental if 2 Jeremiah Satterfield's married 2 Elizabeth Brashear's. Not impossible. I need help on this one. 7. 76. *Elizabeth Brashear, b. c1787 (?twin); m. 20 Apr 1807, Roane Co, TN, to Michael Straisner, Zaza Jr. Brashear signed the marriage bond. Philip Brashear b: Dec 1755 has not been tracked in the census, he was a revolutionary soldier according to some researchers. He does show up in the Bible and will records of his father Robert Samuel Brashear " The Rolling Stone". Does anyone have information other then the above ? Notify Administrator about this message?
