Anniela Sass 1864-5 to Abt. 1925
My great-grandmother was Anniela Sass, born in 1864-65 in West Prussia (possibly in the area around Gdansk to Tczew). She emmigrated to the U.S. in the early 1880's to Erie, PA, where she married (in 1887 or 88) Jozef Brzezinski(1861-1931)who was originally from Malzewek, near Tczew. They had ten children, eight of whom survived childhood, including my grandmother, Frances Brzezinski Chojnacki.According to my mother, Anniela often used the expression "In the time of King Sass", meaning either "a long time ago" or "in better days...".According to the 1910 U.S. Census, she had either a brother or cousin named Conrad Sass (b. abt. 1859-60) as a neighbor.I'm looking for any data about her parents, her town of origin in West Prussian Poland, and connections to other branches of the Sass line.Any clues greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
