Chas. Sargent Killed By A Horse's Kick
Respected Haldimand Resident Killed Yesterday Morning
Charles Sargent, aged about 68 years, was killed yesterday morning at his home near Centreton, when he was kicked several times by a horse, receiving terrible injuries about the head and body. Deceased, who was unmarried and lived with his sister, set out about 11 o'clock to clean the horse. Not returning to the house, his sister, Mrs. Mallory, who lives with him, went out and found her brother lying behind the horse, terribly injured about the head and body. Dr. Lapp was sent for, but Mr. Sargent died soon after his arrival. Deceased was a son of the late William Sargent, and was born and lived all his life on the Sargent homestead near Centreton (Ontario, Canada). He was a man highly respected for his many fine qualities. In religion, he was Methodist, and in politics a Liberal. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. James Thomas, of Colborne (Ontaro, Canada) and Mrs. Mallory, on the homestead.
