Hi Cathy ~
I am looking for males in this Digory Sargent line who would be willing to do a 37 marker Y~DNA test. Or might you know anyone that is a male Sargent of this line, who would like to help other's connect to the same line of Digory's that can not prove their ancestry?DNA has been helping many people prove their ancestry without a doubt.
Since your line has been well documented back to Digory, I was hoping you could help us network this? I am hoping to tie my Sargent line in some way to Digory with my Sargent line. My Uncle Sargent did a 25 marker test(now I have been told we should have probably went to the more accurate test at 37, for this analysis) But..in any case my Uncle's DNA matched 12 per 12 with a male Langlais descendant in Canada, who only did a 12 marker test, for only recent connections he wanted to find. He did not want to go back further I guess. As I said, I have been told, the 12 marker test does not give us as accurate test results as a 25 or 37 marker would take the analysis back to about 1650.. I went(through my Uncle) with The Family tree DNA Service with a reputable DNA testing history.

They have literally thousands of surname projects going on at the moment. We have used this DNA service on other Surnames in the past and had success!
I would be willing to try and pay for some of this if they would even do a 25 marker @ $129.00 as I said, that is the test we did. 37 is a little more @ $149.00. If the Digory Sargent descendant matches that far back in our DNA analysis, that means we are more than likely related through a possible brother of Digory. Since Brother's share the same DNA composition or likeness.
As I said the test results matching at 12 was a little premature, and perhaps it may turn out we are not a 100% match going back further, but I have a feeling...we will. Of course one can never be 100% positive until the results are in.
Please contact me if you would like to talk more about this...It would really help others a great deal. you would be doing a great service to all of us that are cousin's, looking to connect to an original Ancestor in America.
Thank You,
Penny Kresl
