Randy thank you so much for the info you have sent. Other descendants of David M. McCaslin/Rachel C. Sargent still think Sargent is still the correct name. But I would like confirmation. In the Indiana State vital records at State Library have it as McCaslin/Sargent. In FamilySearch.org they have both McCaslin/Sargent and McCaslin/Largent. I have a distant relative that is a researcher and she will be in Salt Lake City this week at a genealogy clinic. She will go to the Family Search that the Mormans have to check to see what she can find.
I am on a committee that is writing a book on David M. McCaslin and descendants. That is the reason for this inquiry. Please stay in touch with me.
