I don't have much information on the Sargent's but I'm happy to share what I have.I took notes on George Sargent's will dated 12/25/1840.He lists children:
John
Enoch
Mary wife of Levi D. Osborn
Asher
George
Abigail wife of John Lane
Elizabeth
Sarah
and the children of Urim - Levi, Nancy, and Mary Ann
Urim married Polly (Mary) Lane in Nov. 1827 in Fountain County Indiana.I have found no other marriage although a distant relative claimed her last name was Crabb but that is likely an error. After Urim's death she married Joseph C. Smith in 1840 in Warren County Indiana.I am descended from the youngest daughter of Joseph and Mary (Polly) Lane Sargent Smith - Louvisa.Mary died in 1848 and Joseph in 1854.
I have not found a Polly Smith in my Smith family although that group is tangled and hard to follow. My Smith's are from New Jersey (John Smith family), living for a time in Warren County Ohio.
I question if Elisha, Jesse, and Able Sargent were brothers of Enoch and Urim. They were living in the same area at the same time but were not in George's will.Perhaps they were cousins?
I have not found where Urim is buried and I believe Mary is with him since they had children and Joseph Smith is buried alone.Joseph Smith later married his brother William's widow Margaret Small Smith.
Do you have any info on Polly Smith who married Elisha?
