Shirley Rae McLaughlin, 85, of La Quinta died Jan. 9, 2006, in Yucca Valley of natural causes.
She was born Sept. 7, 1920, to Raymond and Edith Wilikins Sargeant in Massachusetts.
She was a telephone operator at General Telephone Co. for 30 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Constantino of La Verne; two sons, Patrick McLaughlin of La Quinta and Dennis McLaughlin of Durham; two sisters, Priscilla Johnson of Massachusetts and Sybil Swenson of New Mexico; four grandchildren; and four gret-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry McLaughlin, in 1974.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Coachella Valley Cemetery.
FitzHenry Funeral Home Chapel Indio is in charge of arrangements
