I have an original studio photograph of “Aunt Josie Sargeant”, which I would like to get back to family members. Photo was taken in about 1900, in Mt. Vernon (Linn Co.) IA, and she looks to be about age 55-60.
In the 1895 Iowa State Census, I found Josephine Sargeant, age 56, born Massachusetts, and she lived in Mt. Vernon-Franklin (Linn Co.) IA. In the 1880 census for Milfort (Story Co.) IA, she was 15 years younger, listed as age 40, wife of George Sargeant, age 44.
