I am very interested in your geneology as I believe we may have some ancesters in common. My grandfather (who died before I was born) was Joseph Arru from Sardinia. He had a number of brothers and one sister, but he is the only one who came to the U.S. Some of his brothers were Cornellio, Andrea, Luigi, and his sister was Christina. His brother Luigi lived in Rome and ran the Vatican radio station. Cornellio was a monk, Andrea lived in Genoa at one time. Are any of these people in your heritage? I have no idea what the names of his mother and father were.
Joseph married Rosa Chiofolo (from Sicily) and they settled in Louisville, Kentucky where they both died - Rosa in 1931 and Joseph in 1941.
I believe you may have corresponded in the past with my nephew, Jason Arru, who also lives in Louisville. He mentioned hearing from someone from Chile.
I will wait to hear from you.
Rose Clardy
