Robert W. Sapp, Ravenna OH 1839-1903

  of 1880

While visiting the family cemetery, Maple Grove in Ravenna, I found several graves I can not find any link to through LDS or the Sapp/Stanley book. There is a tall obelisk with three names on it. "Robert W. Sapp 1839-1903", "Our Father Daniel Sapp born Aug. 9, 1811, died Aug 15 1882", and "Mary Wife of Daniel Sapp 1817-1895". There are two stones to the side of it. One reads "Our Mother Rosanna Sapp Died Apr. 27 1866 Aged 80 Years". The other stone is an individual military stone for Robert W. Sapp. which reads "R.W. Sapp CO. A 1 OHIO L.A." I have found Robert's civil war info.

The cemetary furnished me a list of all the Sapps they have on record, and Robert is not on it. There are two other names on the list which I did not find stones for, Simon and Caroline. I did find Caroline listed on the 1880 census as Robert's wife. Simon was listed at the same residence as Rosanna on the 1850 census.

It is my conjecture that Daniel was married to Rosanna, and fathered Simon and Robert. After Rosanna died, I believe he remarried to Mary.

Any info on these people would be apprecieated.

My great grandfather was Ernest Charles Sapp, # 526 of the A line in the Sapp/Stanley book. I do not live near Ravenna, but had occasion to be in the area.
